    An update from the beach

So you all are wondering just where we are and what the dogs and I are doing?  Well, we are parked in front of the beach house, in Crystal Beach TX, living in a 26' RV while a great contractor is repairing the house.   We should be in the house by May 1st.   The Flood insurance folks have sent us some checks which allowed us to start rebuilding.  Not as much as it will take to repair and rebuild the house but at least we can start.  The Texas Wind Storm agency has denied us any insurance funds.  Says that there was little wind damage at the house.   They have, however paid all my neighbors who had wind insurance, at least 10% of their policy.   I am of course appealing their decision.  You may recall that when I got back after the storm IKE had pealed away the entire rear of my house and my bed, night stand, lamp, pillows were sticking out the back of the house. MY feeling is if a big wave took out the front of the house and the rear of the house why did my bed stay there?  Must have been wind.   So here we are the two dogs and I trying to live in a small box without stepping on one another.  So, far we are fine, but I would love a big tub and normal size toilet.   On the political front, President Obama is doing just fine and we need to give him a chance to get things moving again.   The Texas Legislature is in session and while I use to look forward to going to Austin to lobby these folks I don't miss them a bit.
