West with Wilson #8 Portland
Well it is Labor Day weekend and I am still in the kennel. George and all his siblings are in Portland having fun. Usually George and I are at the beach checking out all the ladies in bikinis. But it is hot and humid in Texas and at least it is nice here where I am in Seattle.
So yesterday the Portland group went to all kinds of nice places in Portland. They took a 2 hour walk around downtown Portland and then a bus tour. On the tour they saw a great place, the Pittock Mansion with a view of most of Portland. Nice old ,big beautiful house . Then they walked through The Japanese Garden and the Rose Garden. Of course Portland is known as the Rose City and they do grow nice Roses .
It is a very nice city and as I told you they like dogs there. Also lots of bikes and bike paths. Last night they took a dinner cruse on the Portland Spirit up the Willamette river. They saw lots of nice homes, boats and even boat houses. George thinks we could have a good time living on a boat house. I just wonder where I would “go do my duty” as he tells me. I guess I could adopt a corner of a boat house as my own, plant some grass and even get a tree.
Today they are off on a tour of the wine country. Guess they will get to sample some of the Oregon wines and even buy some to take to Washington.
Tomorrow they take the train back to Seattle.
