Bell and Kinky tied for second

Another poll out showing Chris Bell in second place tied with Kinky. Perry: 35% (no change since June/down 6% since May/down 4% since April),Bell: 23% ,Kinky: 23% ,Strayhorn: 15% ,Werner: 2%. This Survey USA poll was taken after Perry and Strayhorn had been up on TV for several weeks. Folks are now starting to think that Carole will not be a factor in this election and the Gossips agree. What the Gossips are worried about in Kinky. In the past week discussions over the fence with neighbors have shown that a few Democrats are thinking very seriously of voting for Kinky. He is Chris Bell's worse nightmare. In order to overtake Governor Perry, Bell must pick up some of Strayhorn's folks and a lot of Kinky's. As the election gets closer Bell could well be within shouting distance of Perry and that could get some of these Kinky Democrats to decide that Bell is the better choice. If Kinky gives just a few more TV interviews that disclose his real knowledge of Texas government Bell will do much better. Kinky's interview with the Dallas TV station along with his comments about Katrina folks should send a message to these Dems. This guy is funny, but not what we need in the Governor's office.

Bell is up with two new TV spots where he talks about issues and looks directly in the camera. They are fine spots, and Bell looks like a real person with serious stands on the issues. Contrast these with Kinky's where he talks about being a good shepherd and you can see a difference. The Gossips wonder just how much of a TV buy that the Bell folks have made. To be on TV this early when you have limited funds is a real gamble. You might need the money in late October when voters are really starting to think about their decision on who to vote for.
