Noriega for Senate, Oser gets award, Vilsack and Varoga

The Gossips hear that State Representative and army veteran Rick Noriega is being urged to run against John Cornyn for U.S. Senate. Noriega a LTC in the Texas National Guard served on active duty in the war of terror and has been a respected member of the Texas House for many years. Senator Cornyn is so far to the right now days that many Democrats are taking a hard look at this race. Other names that might just decide that Cornyn is in trouble are Houston Mayor Bill White, former Congressman Ken Bentsen and of course Barbara Ann Radnofsky who has not quit running since her last race for the Senate.

And the Gossip hear that former HISD school Board member George Oser will be given the Reverend Louis J. Putz, CSC, Award at Notre Dame University in May. The award is given to those that have contributed to improving the lives of others. The recipient is chosen by the board of directors of ND Senior Alumni. George deserves to be recognized.

And the Gossips wonder if former Governor of Iowa Tom Vilsack's endorsement of Hillary Clinton means that Vilsack's former Campaign Manager and Houstonian Craig Varoga is also joining the Clinton team. Varoga has lots of history in running races in Iowa and worked for Wesley Clark in his presidential race in 2004. So far no word from Varoga. Vilsack has said that Senator Clinton will help him retire his debt left over from his short run this year for the nomination. But his endorsement has nothing to do with her offer to help him on his debt. Sure Tom!
