    The 22nd gets interesting.

Well lets see what new gossip we can find. First Mayor (now former Mayor) John Manlove of Pasadena TX is going to run for the 22nd Congressional District as a Republican. Now the Gossips wonder if his past endorsement of Democrat Chris Bell for Congress will come up in the election. Want to bet that Mrs. Gibbs will not raise that as an issue? Manlove did a good job as Mayor, but running for Congress is very different. And along the same line another GOP candidate from Pasadena is also in the race. St. Rep Robert Tarlton is running. Want to bet that Manlove will not bring up Robert's opposition to GOP Speaker Tom Craddick? The Gossip wonder if Craddick will get involved in this race like he is doing in the state rep races. Tarlton is a seasoned campaigner and will make this an interesting race. Pete Olson is also in this race and has been endorsed by Senators Gramm, Cornyn, former House Ways and Means Chairman and Houston Congressman Bill Archer, and former Republican State Party Chairman George Strake. Olson also raised over $200K in the past two months. He use to work for Gramm and Senator Cornyn, spent some time in the Navy and will use his contacts to raise money and gain more endorsements.

And have you heard the rumor that Houston Council Member Michael Berry is looking like he may jump parties and become a Democrat. Wow that would be news for News Talk KTRH where he is the program manager or some big shot like that. If that does happen you can bet it is because Harris County is trending Democratic and Berry wants to be on the winning team.
