Scott McClellan tells all, Joe Allen's services, Democrats meet next week.

The Gossips are wondering who is next to spill the bean that the President is not always on his toes so to speak. Here comes former press secretary Scott McClellan with a “tell-all “book about the White House. Scott McClellan, one of the original Texans who followed George W. Bush to Washington is not the first Texan to decide that the truth is important. Mathew Dowd did it and just recently Mark McKinnon told the McCain folks he could work for that campaign against Barack Obama. McKinnon did not say anything bad about President Bush, but you wonder how he feels about his old boss now days. This administration is having a hard time trying to beat back the authors who want to let the public know just how bad things are in the White House. And none of them are saying anything nice about the Veep.

And the Gossips enjoyed seeing all the politicians and old lobbyists at Joe Allen’s funeral. Former Governor Mark White was there along with Ken Bentsen and Chris Bell former Congressmen. Then you had lots of former State Reps and judges and political types. A larger number of Joe’s former bosses from Enron were also there. That was nice and Joe would have enjoyed seeing them. Former Supreme Court Justice Bob Gammage did great as he told about Joe’s life and gave the large crowd some funny stories. The best stories were told late at night after some liquid refreshments.

And next weekend Texas Democrats will meet in Austin for their convention and the selection of delegates for the national convention. There are over 1500 state Obama delegates who want to become national delegates. The Gossips is happy he will not be there to watch that process. The at-large delegate slots will be used to balance the delegation and to reward those who worked so hard for Clinton and Obama. But many feelings will be hurt and there will be anger and anguish. But that is the way democracy works. Have fun and take lots of pictures.
