The Gossips just had a hunch that the person behind the campaign of Stephanie Simmors(also known as Stephanie Fridia) was was Ron Wilson. Ron is a GOP hit man now days and he has been looking for Chris Bell for many years. Bell helped Ron's opponent when Ron was defeated and Chris has had a long time relationship with St. Rep Garnet Coleman who did everything he could to finish Ron's political career. Now it turns out that Ms. Stephanie whatever her name is, registured to vote just one day before she filled to run against Chris in the Democratic primay for State Senate 17. In the last primary she voted in a precienct outside the district. The law says you have to be a resident of the district for one year before you are elected. No one has ever heard of her and she refused to talk to the press. Some says she is just in this race to take votes away from Chris Bell and assure he is in a run-off. There is a court case today in Austin on this subject and setting next to her attorney Roy Minton is Ron Wilson as co-council. Roy is a great lawyer and very expensive and has represented a few Republicans in the past so it is very interesting to see he and Wilson representing this lady.

And the Gossips wonder what County Commissioier Jerry Eversole is going to do now that the FBI is investigating his dealings with Leroy Hermes a well connected architect. Eversole says he expects to be indicted. The Gossips wonder if this investigation has anything to do with Andy Schatte and Mike Surface and their recent indictments. This might also lead back to the good old days of Mayor Lee P. Brown and some of his close associates. Who knows what the FBI and the U.S. Attorney might come across as they investigate developers and their dealings with public officials. There is the famious Emergency management center, funds from the city penision funds, building of county buildings and designs of public buildings. Yes it could be interesting.

And send Eleanor Tinsley a get well card. She has a serious desease and is fighting it with her usual strength and determiation. Before she was elected to the Houston City Council she was a school board member at HISD. And along the way she took on some tough gentlemen including the above mentioned Jerry Eversole who she lost a close race and Frank Mann who she beat. Since she left public office she has been building play grounds for kids and doing other good civic deeds. She even has a park named after her. Say a prayer for a grand lady.
